We have already discussed some of these ways to care for your jewelry.  Do not wear your turquoise jewelry when washing dishes, or any other cleaning or household chores.  Lotions and perfumes will also damage the turquoise stones. Never use any of the ultrasonic jewelry cleaners to clean your turquoise.  Avoid wearing turquoise in during swimming or using hot tubs because the chemicals in the water will damage the stones.  Avoid wearing your turquoise jewelry in the shower or bathing as the soaps can damage the stones.   If you will be extra careful to use the recommended  jeweler’s cleaning cloth or  warm water (preferably filtered) and a soft bristle brush, you will find your favorite turquoise pendant or earrings will be beautiful for years to come.
